University of the Cordilleras – College of Teacher Education (UC-CTE) hosted the 3rd Regional Undergraduate Research Conference with the theme Research in Education: Promoting Contextualized Pedagogy last July 21, 2023 at the University of the Cordilleras, Baguio City.
The research conference was populated by teacher education undergraduate students who presented their undergraduate theses. The research conference was open to numerous educational institutions in the Cordilleras Administrative Region. The event was graced not only by the various researchers but also their research advisers
The plenary session was held at the UC Theatre to which a keynote speech was set to be delivered by Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr, CESE, Director IV, CHEd-CAR. Unfortunately, due to pressing commitments, Dr. Anduyan was unable to attend in person but conveyed his best wishes and appreciation for the event’s significance – acknowledging the vital role such gatherings play in promoting regional research efforts and fostering a culture of inquiry among future educators.

Following the plenary session, the conference featured breakout sessions corresponding to different areas, namely, Language Education, Mathematics and Science, Physical Education, and, Social Studies. Each session was facilated by a faculty member of UC-CTE. Additionally, experts in their respective areas was invited to serve as panel members of their respective breakout sessions providing insightful feedback and queries to progress the established significance of the study further than what is explicitly presented.
The event was filled scholarly collaboration and intellectual exchange providing a platform to share new knowledge in bridging knowledge gaps which the different researchers aim to cover.
The research conference concluded with a recognition ceremony that honored student researchers who had delivered exemplary presentations and contributed valuable insights, and researchs that has been shown to relatively enhance such insights to degrees not explicitly available at present. Overall, the 3rd Regional Undergraduate Research Conference underscored the value of research in education and its importance in promoting contextualized pedagogy in the region.
